Let's face it--the words 'holiday market' may make you think of hot chocolate and holding hands, but they don't really make you think awesome design, art and craft you actually want to gift, much less own.
I love handmade, but I have been to one too many holiday markets filled with things I will never buy. Here are some holiday markets in New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC that will not leave you empty handed. I promise. In fact, you may want to leave your credit card at home and bring a budgeted amount of cash because you will want to buy it all. All the handmade.
I've listed the markets below, which include West Coast Craft, (capsule) Market Square, Parcel Market and Etsy's Handmade Cavalcade, as well as links to each list of vendors showing so you can shop from the comfort of your home.
Happy Holiday Market season! See you on the ice rink!
West Coast Craft
December 6th & 7th from 11am - 6pm at Fort Mason in San Francisco.
Featuring designers, artists and craftspeople that represent west coast vibes.
(capsule) Market Square
December 6th & 7th from 12pm - 8pm at Center 548, 548 W 22nd St in New York.
Not a buyer? No problem -- Capsule Market Square is open to the public and features pop-up shops from emerging and established designers.
PARCEL Market
December 12th from 5pm - 9pm, December 13th from 12pm - 8pm, December 14th from 12pm - 5pm at Canal Park, 200 M Street SE in Washington, DC.
Besides local designers, this urban outdoor holiday market will have an ice rink, interactive art installation, food artisans and live music. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited about Rock 'n' skate on Friday night from 7pm - 9pm...oh and it's pet friendly!
Shaw Holiday Arts, Crafts and Fashion Market is also going on every Saturday and Sunday in December from 11am - 7pm at 651 Florida Avenue, NW .
I know I am biased, but DC is certainly #winning this season.
Etsy's Handmade Cavalcade
December 13th & 14th from 10am - 8pm at Chelsea Market in New York.
Featuring over 60 Etsy artists, designers and makers.
