Wanderlust Wednesdays: Sopelana sunsets and approaching dreamscapes
"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it's always ourselves we find in the sea." - E. E. cummings
Living in a small beach town on the Northern coast of Spain was an absolute dream. I'm wandering in my memories right now, ready for the onset of dreamscapes that always materialize when I'm reminiscing. I'm pretty sure I'm still technically a resident.
"I could never stay long enough on the shore; the tang of the untainted, fresh, and free sea air was like a cool, quieting thought." - Helen Keller
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. - Jacques Cousteau
my backyard...
When Bernal Heights is in your backyard, it's hard to ever get all that down. Just walk up Folsom (start at Cesar Chavez or anywhere really) and follow the trail all the way to the top. Anytime of day is awesome, but sunrise or sunset are the best. There will be adorable dogs. It is similar to Los Angeles' Runyon Canyon, as it feels like a hike in the middle of the city, but it is much less crowded and you don't sweat because the weather is always nice and it's just an easy incline. On a clear day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge and everything in between.
